Controversy surrounding the author of Spy x Family not liking his characters began when a Japanese portal Myjitsu published an article from the official SPY x FAMILY fanbook, in which we can see some statements from the author of the series.
Spy x Family author doesn't seem to like his characters
Author Tatsuya Endo revealed that he “ doesn’t feel any attachment to his characters ” and that they “ are the result of letting go of many things ” meaning he gave up his style to design something based on what’s popular today.
SPYxFAMILY fans was immediate , with several comments such as:
“I'm a little disappointed with the author's statement that he has no love for his characters.“
“I have seen his statements without any appeal to the characters, and this is very noticeable.”
“ I think it’s totally normal to feel zero attachment to a character, but I wish you hadn’t brought it up now. ”
We can see the author's anger, as he wanted to freely draw his work, with his own style, but was blocked in the end, probably by the publisher, from drawing something more "popular" with an attractive design.
Leave your comment on the subject and on this revelation by the author, do you agree with him?
