The episode 6 of The Beginning After The End , released on May 7, marks a new stage in Arthur's life and a difficult maturity away from his parents, but necessary for his training with Viion Elith. The elf girl seems to have emotionally disarmed a former king who has long not been known what fun and rest was.
The reflexes of Arthur's past life still remain in who he is today, the weight of carrying a crown and the burden of responsibilities still echo in his life. It is no coincidence that at the beginning of the episode, the boy dreams that the pressure and pain he feels at his core come out of his body and turn into a monster, such materialization makes him wonder if it is his anxiety or the weight of responsibility.
The Beginning After The End features a quieter and more cheerful Arthur
It is clear that Arthur misses his parents from the moment they were separated. However, his journey so far has been fundamental to his maturity and self -knowledge. Characters like Sylvia, Thessia, and now Virion have been and are still essential for Arthur Leywin's identity construction.
The episode brings little action, but, in compensation, shows Arthur's insertion into Elenoir, the Elificing Kingdom. At first, the boy suffers rejection by Alduin and Merial, parents of Thessia, and also by the elves living in the kingdom. The only one who seems to accept him in Bom in Elenoir is Viion, grandfather of the Elfa girl, in part because Arthur saved her granddaughter, but also because he knows something is happening inside the boy.
Motivated to give everything and understand his powers, Arthur agrees to stay in Elenoir and become the apprentice of the grandfather of Thessia. However, the boy is concerned about his parents, and considering that, Vion takes him to Rinia Darcassan, a witch and old friend. With his clairvoyance skills, Rinia helps the protagonist to contact her family. The scene, in addition to Arthur's contact with his parents, brings flashbacks moments after their separation. The images, which are unfortunately static, show their suffering without their son.

Arthur begins a new phase in the elaphic kingdom. In addition to his training with Viion, the boy will be able to count on the Tessia company, which is even closer and closer to him. With each episode, Arthur's distancing from his previous life personality, besides the weight, which seems less and less, on his shoulders.
The protagonist is more like Thesia than he thinks, as he carries memories of a life marked by the responsibility of being a king, as well as the princess, who, as her grandfather explains at a certain moment of the episode, led a very isolated life, with superficial friendships that broke her heart.
The Beginning After the End carries a deep narrative, which addresses human feeling and identity construction from living with other people. In addition, it brings a complex character, which carries within itself the duality of a life past with a lack of affection and its current life, which brings new feelings and an never imagined purpose: to obtain strength to protect those with whom it cares.
Unfortunately, the animation, produced by the studio A-CAT , leaves something to be desired, especially in scenes that involve struggle and movement. The anime is opting for static images and few elements that could highlight the scenes where magic is used. The fans were so unhappy with the animation that they created a petition for the cancellation of the work. To date, there are over 56,000 signatures.
