In episode 8 of The Beginning After the End , released on May 21st, Arthur finally reunites with his family and meets his little sister Eleanor. The boy, who has been away from home for years, is welcomed with joy and, after battling Reynolds to show the results of his training, surprises his parents with the evolution of his magic. Furthermore, Arthur receives a tempting offer from Vincent Helstea, his father's boss.

At the beginning of the episode, Arthur recounts his journey and the years he spent in Elenoir. However, he omits parts of his adventure, such as the moment he met Sylvia. The scene of Arthur's reunion with his parents was disappointing and, unlike the web novel, didn't explore their feelings about seeing him after so many years. In fact, Arthur himself showed little sentimentality at that moment.
The evolution of Arthur's magic
While discussing their magic stages, Reynolds discovers that Arthur is at the light red stage. In The Beginning After the End , there are mana colors, starting with black, followed by red, orange, yellow, silver, and white. After the color itself, there are the stages: deep, standard, and light. Soon after, Reynolds calls Arthur for a training session, and at the same moment, Vincent Helstea, Arthur's father's boss, arrives with his family and takes the opportunity to watch the fight between father and son.
Unfortunately, the fight was quite disappointing. Like the other episodes, the animation, done by studio A-CAT, uses static scenes and presents very little dynamism. The fight between the two, featuring hand-to-hand combat and the use of magic, had a lot of potential for a dynamic moment and better use of effects in the scenes where magic is used.
During training, Arthur's progress is noticeable. His parents already knew about the boy's abilities, but Vincent Helstea is impressed. Because of this, Reynolds' boss proposes that the protagonist enroll in Xyrus Academy, a prestigious magic school, without worrying about tuition, as he intends to pay for Arthur's studies. The boy, who hasn't seen his family in a long time, decides to refuse the offer to spend time with them.
The Beginning After The End: What to expect from the next episode?
Now, Arthur is finally with his family. He plans to spend some time with them before deciding to leave again for somewhere else. If the anime follows the same path as the web novel, in the next episodes Arthur will get closer to his little sister and Lilia, Vincent's daughter. Also, there's a funny scene involving Sylvie and a bathtub.
