While the premiere of the anime of The Beginning After the End generated great anticipation, its execution also received criticism. In light of this, TurtleMe , the creator of the original work, decided to speak out on the matter.

According to the author, it's natural that there are areas for improvement. However, he emphasized that he prefers to remain focused on his work on the novel and webcomic versions. " After all, if I start worrying too much, I end up stressing myself out. The best way to deal with this is to trust the producers to make the best possible adaptation ," he stated.

Although many fans have divided opinions, the author demonstrated maturity by recognizing his creative limits throughout the process. As he explained, he dedicates himself to writing a good story where he has control, that is, in the novel and the comic. This way, he avoids unnecessary emotional exhaustion.

However, TurtleMe emphasized that it is closely monitoring the adaptation's progress. It understands that transforming a complex work like The Beginning After the End into an anime requires technical decisions, narrative adjustments, and, above all, trust in the team involved.

Therefore, even with specific criticisms, the author shows that he believes in the potential of the animated production, unlike the fans.

The Beginning After the End translated as "What will the most powerful king do in his second life?" is an American web novel written by TurtleMe and illustrated by Fuyuki23 .

The work began to be published on the Tapas in January 2017. In July 2018 , it gained a webtoon adaptation, also illustrated by Fuyuki23, which quickly gained popularity among readers.

Yen Press is responsible for publishing the English version of the webtoon, with seven volumes released until March 2025. The work received an anime adaptation produced by the studio A-Cat , airing between April and June 2025 .
