The recently announced anime The Blue Wolves of Mibu ( Ao no Miburo ) has received its first promotional art featuring the character Nio, originally voiced by Shuichiro Umeda . The series is animated by studio Maho Film (Gekai Elise).

Synopsis:

Nio is an orphan who can't stop dreaming of a better world. In this action-packed manga, he meets two men who show him just how much a few swords can change history. This captivating samurai series from the acclaimed creator of DAYS shares its setting with Rurouni Kenshin and chronicles the founding of the Shinsengumi by handsome and volatile men who fight for justice… and for themselves!

Finally, author Yasuda launched the manga of The Blue Wolves of Mibu in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine in October 2021. Kodansha USA Publishing plans to begin printing the manga in English in the spring of 2024.
