Synopsis

Therefore, the Boy and the Crane won the Best Animated Film category at the 81st Golden Globe Awards earlier this year. The Alliance of Women Film Journalists awarded it Best Animated Film at its EDA Awards on December 31. The 78th Mainichi Film Awards announced ahead of its ceremony on February 14 that the film will receive the Noburou Oofuji Award, which honors animated works that offer new forms of creative expression.
The Boy and the Crane premiered in Brazil on February 22nd. Finally, the film also received nominations from the Annie Awards (for animated feature, direction and screenplay) and the British Academy Film Awards (for animated film).
