The May issue of Square Enix 's Gangan Joker revealed on Friday (21) that Jun Mochizuki The Case Study of Vanitas " (Vanitas no Carte) will return from hiatus in the magazine's next issue on May 22 .
The Case Study of Vanitas – Manga Return Date Revealed
The manga went on hiatus in June 2022.
Jun Mochizuki (Pandora Hearts, Crimson-Shell) launched the manga in Gangan Joker in December 2015. Square Enix published the 10th volume in May 2022.
The Case Study of Vanitas anime, animated by BONES, premiered in July 2021. The second part of the anime premiered in January 2022. Funimation streamed the first part, and both Funimation and Crunchyroll streamed the second part when it aired, and Crunchyroll also added the first part to its catalog later.
Synopsis
Despised by others of his kind for being born under a blue moon, the vampire Vanitas became fearful and desolate. According to legend, he created a cursed grimoire known as The Book of Vanitas, and it is said that one day he would use it to bring retribution to all vampires of the red moon. In 19th-century Paris, Noé Archiviste is searching for the legendary Book of Vanitas. While traveling aboard an airship, he is saved from a vampire attack by an eccentric doctor who calls himself Vanitas and carries the book he seeks. Ironically, the self-proclaimed vampire expert is a mere human who inherited his name and the book from his master, the same Vanitas of legend. Ultimately, as strange cases arise, the doctor's ability to restore vampires' sanity proves very beneficial.
