Cat's Eye: Manga gets a new anime adaptation

A new anime adaptation of the classic manga Cat's Eye was confirmed this Thursday (21) by Disney+.

After nearly 40 years, Cat's Eye, the iconic anime about the mysterious sisters, is back with a new series! The production will be released exclusively on Disney+ Star in 2025.

Synopsis of Cat's Eye:

The story blends action, romance, and comedy as the sisters stage daring escapes and engage in a cat-and-mouse game with the police, including a thrilling and risky relationship between Hitomi and Detective Toshio.

This new adaptation is part of Disney's commitment to bringing classics to a modern audience, while maintaining the charm that has won over fans around the world.

Therefore, Cat's Eye is a manga written and illustrated by Tsukasa Hojo, published in Weekly Shōnen Jump 's Shueisha between 1981 and 1985.In 1983studio Tokyo Movie Shinsha released the first anime version, broadcast on Nippon TV, followed by a second season in 1985.

Finally, the series also spawned a television film in 1988 and a film adaptation in 1997.
