Saint Seiya series will be released on Blu-Ray here in Brazil. With the release by PlayArte, the episodes are promised to be released later this year.
There's no confirmed date yet, but the little blue discs should arrive in stores sometime this year .
Based on the manga by Masami Kurumada , Saint Seiya (the original name of the work) was produced by Toei Animation between 1986 and 1989, being one of the studio's flagship titles at the time, alongside Dragon Ball. The series was a joint initiative with the manufacturer Bandai , which created one of the most iconic toys on the Japanese market in the 1980s: the action figures with removable metal armor.
The remastered HD version arrived on the Japanese market in 2014, with a series of extras and collector's items. In Brazil, the complete collection was released only on DVD – and also represented rare sales figures for the national market.
