Anime studio Production IG announced on Tuesday that it is producing a film adaptation of Tsuchika Nishimura “ The Concierge at Hokkyoku Department Store ” (Hokkyoku Hyakkaten no Concierge-san), which will premiere this fall.

Yoshimi Itazu ("Pigtails", Welcome to the Ballroom, main animation in Popin Q) is making her directorial debut in an anime feature film, while Satomi Ooshima (Hataraki Man, Fortune Favors Lady Nikuko, Raven of the Inner Palace) writing the script and distribution for Aniplex.
Nishimura then launched the manga in Shogakukan's Big Comic Zoukan magazine in November 2016 and ended it in 2020 with two volumes. Additionally, the manga won the Excellence Award for the Ministry of Cultural Affairs' 25th Japan Media Arts Festival Awards in 2022.
The author is one of 13 featured artists in the indie manga anthology Glaeolia 3, Glacier Bay Books released the book in July 2022.
Synopsis
The manga revolves around a new concierge in a mysterious store where all the customers are animals. Finally, as a concierge, she tries to read her quirky customers and tries to make appropriate recommendations.
