TOHO has released a new trailer and promotional image for the anime The Deer King (Shika no Ou). According to the official website , the new film will be released in Japanese theaters on September 10, 2021.

The film is directed by Masashi Ando (Spirited Away, Your Name.) and Masayuki Miyaji (Fusé: Memoirs of a Huntress).
Synopsis:
The film tells the story of Van, a captain of a group of soldiers who expects to die in battle for his land against a vast empire. However, instead of dying, Van is taken hostage and subsequently enslaved.
Finally, the film is based on the light novel by author Nahoko Uehashi , which has over 1.5 million copies in print.
