The second season of The Detective is Already Dead ( Tantei wa Mou, Shindeiru. ) finally has a release date: the anime returns in July 2026. In addition, a brand new teaser has been released, showcasing new scenes, production art, and newly recorded voice acting for the main characters.
The video begins with the monitor highlighted in the original visual teaser and then presents new illustrations of the setting, storyboard, and key frames . Additionally, we hear previously unreleased snippets of the voices of Kimizuka , Siesta , Nagisa , and other characters, reinforcing the dramatic tone that has marked the series. On the other hand, the studio also revealed the designs of Scarlett and Mia , who will make their debut in this phase of the story, while child versions of Siesta, Nagisa, and Alicia were also released.
In the story, we follow Kimizuka a year after Siesta's death. However, his routine changes when a girl named Nagisa Natsunagi appears asking for help. Thus, the young man agrees to return to the role of assistant and embarks on an investigation that promises to reveal the truth behind the legendary detective's death.
The new season of The Detective is Already Dead is directed by Manabu Kurihara , written by Deko Akao , with character designs by Yosuke Ito and production by studio ENGI . Finally, the main cast returns with Arata Nagai as Kimizuka and Saki Miyashita as Siesta.
