The First Slam Dunk – Film premieres in August in Brazilian cinemas

The film The First Slam Dunk has officially confirmed its release in Brazilian theaters. The new anime film will arrive in Brazil with a Portuguese dub on August 3rd.

The First Slam Dunk premiered in Japan in December 2022, but the film began distribution in other countries later. Now, the film will also be destroyed here in Brazil by Cinecolor. Additionally, some Brazilian theaters have already started pre-selling tickets for the film. The film was directed and written by Takehiko Inoue Slam Dunk manga , and was produced by Toei Animation .

Synopsis:

Slam Dunk tells the story of Hanamichi Sakuragi, a high school student and delinquent with a crush on the delicate Haruko Akagi, who introduces him to the world of basketball. Thus, the clumsy character begins to get involved in the sport, intending to join his school's basketball team just to catch Akagi's attention. However, Sakuragi awakens a genuine passion for basketball when he feels the adrenaline rush of the game alongside his captain Takenori Akagi, his rival Rukawa Kaede, and the rest of the team.

Takehiko Inoue then published his iconic sports manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 1990 to 1996, with a total of 31 volumes. The manga inspired an anime in 1993 and received four sequels in the form of animated films.
