During a local Japanese TV program, Pokémon Smash, Pokémon anime was announced , referencing the Pokémon XY game. In the video, in addition to Ash and Pikachu, the three starter Pokémon from the Kalos region (Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie) also appear, along with Professor Sycamore.

Synopsis: Ash will continue as the protagonist alongside Pikachu. The two will travel to Lumiose City (Miare), located in the center of the Kalos region. Upon their arrival, they will encounter Pokémon never seen before and make new friends. Ash will continue his journey to become a Pokémon Master and will do everything to compete in the famous Kalos League.
