As you've probably just seen, the release of The Last of Us Part II has been delayed. We're sure this news is as disappointing for you as it is for us. We'd like to speak with everyone in our community to give you a little more information

Check out Sony's statement on Twitter :

"The good news is that we're almost finished with the development of The Last of Us Part II. We're in the middle of fixing our final bugs."

“However, even if we finish the game, we face the reality that due to logistics beyond our control, we couldn’t release The Last of Us Part II in a way that was satisfactory to us. We want to ensure that everyone can play the game more or less at the same time, ensuring that we are doing everything possible to preserve the best experience for everyone. This means delaying the game until a time when we can resolve the logistical issues.”

“We are saddened by this decision but understand that it is the best and fairest course of action for all our players. We hope this will not be a long delay and we will update you as soon as we have new information to share.”

"We wish you all, your families and friends the best of health. Thank you for being amazing fans and for your continued support."

"Stay safe!"

Finally, the sequel to the acclaimed 2013 game takes place five years after the events of the first game and would star Ellie, continuing her journey of revenge against a group that attacked her, along with her romantic partner, Dina. Joel, her father figure and protagonist of the original, would accompany her throughout this story.
