That's right, one of the most anticipated games of 2013 is now getting a movie adaptation: The Last of Us will be adapted for the big screen by Screen Gems, a subsidiary of Sony Pictures Entertainment.
The game's creative director, Neil Druckmann, is involved with the script, and production will be handled by Ghost House Pictures, directed by none other than Sam Raimi, who directed the first three Spider-Man films. Clint Culpepper, president of Screen Gems, said: "When I saw the quality of the narrative in The Last of Us , I knew it was a story that deserved to be adapted for the cinema, for a much larger audience than just the gaming community."
The film does not yet have a release date.
