That's right, one of the most anticipated games of 2013 will now get a movie, The Last of Us will be adapted for the cinema by Screen Gems, a subsidiary of Sony Pictures Entertainment.
The game's creative director, Neil Druckmann, is involved with the script, and production will be handled by Ghost House Pictures, which is directed by none other than Sam Raimi, responsible for the first three Spider-Man films. Clint Culpepper, president of Screen Gems, said: "When I saw the quality of the storytelling in The Last of Us , I knew it was a story worthy of being adapted for the big screen, for an audience much wider than just the gaming community."
The film has no release date yet.
