That's right, one of the most anticipated games of 2013 will now get a film, The Last of Us will be adapted for the cinema by Screen Gems, a subsidiary of Sony Pictures Entertainment.

The game's creative director, Neil Druckmann, is involved with the script, and production will be handled by Ghost House Pictures, which is directed by none other than Sam Raimi, responsible for directing the first three Spider-Man films. Clint Culpepper, president of Screen Gems said: “When I saw the quality of the narrative that The Last of Us , I knew it was a story that deserved to be adapted for film, for an audience much larger than the gaming community.”
The film does not have a release date.
