The light novel Kyuukyoku Shinka Shita Full Dive RPG ga Genjitsu Yori mo Kusogee Dattara de Light Tuchihi ( Kono Yuusha ) will receive an anime adaptation premiering in April.

A free translation of the light novel title "What if the ultimate in fully immersive VR RPGs was a game worse than reality itself?".

Synopsis

The story follows a bored high school student named Hiro Yuuki as he is drawn into a fully immersive RPG video game. The game, titled Kiwame Quest, is presented as "more real than reality," with mind-blowing graphics, impressive NPC behavior, and even the smell of foliage and the sensation of wind against your skin.

Unfortunately, the game is already a virtual ghost town, after being flooded with complaints from players that it was too realistic for its own good. Its missions are nearly impossible to complete, as players must be in the same physical shape as their characters to complete them, just as they would in real life. Players feel real pain as wounds from blows and punctures take days to heal. The only reward is the mere feeling of accomplishment. It's the opposite of casual games, but Hiro promises to win the title of most realistic game of all time.
