The 41st issue of Shogakukan 's Weekly Shonen Sunday revealed that the manga Call of the Night ( Yofukashi no Uta ) is going on a one-week hiatus due to the author Kotoyama .
The hiatus will only last for one issue of the magazine, returning again in the 43rd issue on September 21st. The magazine clarified in a statement that the manga was going on hiatus because the author contracted "that illness that's going around," but that he had already recovered.
The manga recently received an anime adaptation that premiered on July 7th and is still airing.
Synopsis
On the surface, Kou Yamori seems like a typical high school student. Relatively good at his studies and kind to his classmates, he goes to great lengths to maintain this facade. One day, however, he decides to stop pretending and drops out of school, developing insomnia due to his lack of daytime outlets. When he goes for walks alone at night, he feels a little better, although he knows his inability to sleep should be considered a serious problem.
On one of these walks, Kou meets a strange girl, Nazuna Nanakusa, who diagnoses the cause of his insomnia: despite having made changes in his life, it continues to prevent him from experiencing true freedom. She tells him that he won't be able to sleep if he's not satisfied with how he's spending his waking hours. When it seems he has resolved his current concerns, Nazuna invites him to share her futon in her apartment. After a while, unaware that he is only pretending to be unconscious, she leans over him and bites his neck.
Kotoyama launched the Call of the Night manga in Weekly Shonen Sunday in August 2019. The anime adaptation is by studio LIDENFILMS and is directed by Tomoyuki Itamura with a script by Michiko Yokote.
Furthermore, the author is also known for the manga Dagashi Kashi , which was serialized between June 2014 and April 2018. The manga had two anime adaptations, the first season by studio feel. in 2016 and the second by studio Tezuka Productions in 2018. The manga's story follows Kokonotsu, heir to a candy shop in a rural area, who dreams of becoming a manga artist.
Synopsis
