MBS announced the adaptation of Yukinobu Tatsu 's Dandadan into an anime this Monday (27) in a promotional video. The anime is being produced by the studio Science Saru and is scheduled to premiere in 2024.
Synopsis
The story of Dandadan follows a nerd who faces spirits and aliens vying for his "family heirloom." And who better to help than his high school crush and a spiritual grandma?! Momo Ayase and Okarun disagree about the paranormal. In this quest to prove who's wrong, secret passions and paranormal battles emerge! Momo befriends Okarun, a UFO fanatic at school. While Momo believes in spirits, Okarun thinks the opposite. To resolve their differences, they decide to visit a UFO hotspot and a haunted tunnel! Thus, a young love story unfolds, with strangely excited aliens and spirits..

Fuuga Yamashiro (assistant director of Tatami Time Machine Blues) is directing the anime at Science SARU , and Hiroshi Seko (Attack on Titan The Final Season, Chainsaw Man , Jujutsu Kaisen, Mob Psycho 100) is supervising and writing the series scripts. Composer Kensuke Ushio (Chainsaw Man, DEVILMAN crybaby , Liz and the Blue Bird) is creating the soundtrack. Naoyuki Onda (Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway, Berserk: The Golden Age Arc ) is designing the characters, and Yoshimichi Kameda (Mob Psycho 100) is designing the aliens and supernatural entities.
Furthermore, Tatsu serializes the manga in Shueisha's Shonen Jump+, and Shueisha will publish the 12th volume on December 4th. Finally, the Dandadan stage event at Jump Festa 2024 will provide news about the anime, including the cast, on December 16th.
