The acclaimed brothers Lana and Andy Wachowski, who were responsible for the classic Matrix trilogy of the 2000s, may be writing a new trilogy.
According to Latino Review, the franchise's creators are already submitting potential ideas to Warner Bros. One of these ideas would involve the emergence of the Matrix, but for now, nothing is defined regarding the premise; it is only known that parallel plots – such as the Matrix animations – will not be considered.
After the trilogy ended, the Wachowskis directed two films for Warner Bros., without the same success: Speed Racer and The Trip. The next, Jupiter Ascending, hits theaters on August 7th.
