manga adaptation of The Misfit of Demon King Academy will be canceled due to the author's ongoing treatment for pancreatic cancer.
In a statement posted on his Twitter , the author added that he has known about the cancer since September 2019, and also stated that he regrets that the manga had to end this way.
Synopsis
Anos Voldigord, the Demon Tyrant, exterminated humans, spirits, and even gods, but grew weary of the endless war and reincarnated in search of a world of peace. However, upon reincarnating 2000 years later, he discovered that his descendants had become accustomed to times of peace, becoming weak and devoid of magical power. He enters the Demon King Academy, which gathers potential reincarnations of the legendary Tyrant, but the institution does not recognize his powers and classifies him as a misfit. Despised by all and with the help of his only friend Misha, the misfit Tyrant climbs the hierarchy of the demon world!
The manga adaptation of The Misfit of Demon King Academy launched in July 2018 in Square Enix Manga Up!, and Square Enix then published the fourth volume of the manga on March 5th.
It's worth remembering that the work inspired an anime adaptation that premiered in July 2020. The anime will have a second season that will air in partial cours (quarters of a year).
