It was announced that the manga of The Misfit of Demon King Academy will then be canceled, due to the author's treatment for pancreatic cancer.
In a statement shown on the Twitter , the author added that he has known about the cancer since September 2019, also stating that he regrets that the manga had to end like this.
Synopsis
Anos Voldigor, the Tyrant of Demons, exterminated humans, spirits and even gods, but he grew tired of the endless war and reincarnated in search of a world of peace. However, when he reincarnated 2000 years later, he discovered that his descendants had become accustomed to times of peace, becoming weak and without magical power. He enters the Academy of Demon Kings, which brings together potential reincarnations of the legendary Tyrant, but the institution does not recognize his powers and classifies him as a misfit. Despised by everyone and with the help of his only friend Misha, the misfit Tyrant climbs the ranks of the demon world!
The manga adaptation of The Misfit of Demon King Academy launched in July 2018 on Manga Up! From Square Enix , Square Enix then published the fourth volume of the manga on March 5th.
It is worth remembering that the work inspired an anime adaptation that premiered in July 2020. The anime will have a second season that will air in partial runs (quarters of a year).
