The film Kimi wa Kanata gets a teaser and release date

The official website TOHO studio film Kimi wa Kanata ( roughly translated: You Are Beyond has posted a 30-second teaser and a new poster visual. The video, narrated by Honoka Matsumoto, reveals the film's release date as November 27th.

The poster shows the two protagonists of the film at the east exit of Ikebukuro Station in Tokyo. The slogan on the poster reads "Why can't I remember..."

Kimi wa Kanata will star Honoka Matsumoto as Mio, and Toshiki Seto as Shin. ( The romaji in the character names is not official. )

Synopsis

The teen fantasy film takes place in Ikebukuro, a district of Tokyo, and centers on two childhood friends, Mio and Shin. Mio has feelings for Shin and thinks about him constantly, but has never really been able to express them. But one day they argue over something trivial, and shortly after, Mio decides to make amends. However, as she heads to meet Shin, soaked by the rain, she ends up in a traffic accident. And when Mio regains consciousness, she wakes up in a new and unfamiliar world.

Furthermore, Yoshinobu Sena ( director and writer of Neko mo, Onda-ke ) is directing the film, writing the screenplay, and is also credited with the original concept. This is also the director's debut film. Digital Network Animation is producing the animation. CUCURI is credited with the planning and development of the project. Rabbit House and Elephant House will distribute the film, and Kadokawa will publish the original novel.
