Synopsis:

In the year 7 of the Kowa era, in the former Hokkaido Block of United Japan, occupied by the Neo-British Empire, there were two mercenary siblings known as the "Nana Mercenaries." Ash, the older brother, possessed exceptional skills and great proficiency in piloting Nightmare Frames, while Rose, the younger brother, was a brilliant intellectual, tasked with intelligence gathering and strategic command. For four years, they faced the liberation operation of the Order of the Black Knights, led by the 100th Emperor, Calis Al Britannia, and his direct knights, including Noland, against the impenetrable fortress known as Citunpevalia, which possessed an energy barrier. Once again, they were attempting to plunge the world into chaos. But at the request of the Japanese resistance of the Seven-Colored Star, Rose and Ash join them to confront the Neo-British Empire and recover Empress Sakuya.

Finally, the original anime premiered in 2006, followed by a sequel in 2008. Furthermore, the animation inspired several manga and OVAs, including a spin-off that premiered in 2012.
