It was announced at a conference that the light novel Machigatte Iru ( Dungeon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru no Darō ka ? ) translating to "Is it wrong to try to pick up girls in dungeons?" by author Fujino Ōmori will be getting an anime adaptation.
Yoshiki Yamakawa (Hatsukoi Limited, Little Busters!) will direct the anime through JC Staff (Little Busters!), Hideki Shirane (Date A Live) is in charge of series composition. Shigeki Kimoto is designing the anime's characters, and studio GENCO will produce the series.
The story takes place in the city of labyrinths, also called "Dungeon". The story revolves around Vel Clanel, a novice adventurer who admires girls. One day, during an adventure, he is attacked by a Minotaur. Near death, he is saved by a first-class adventurer. He falls in love with her at first sight and begins efforts to become a high-level adventurer. Later, he meets Hestia, a goddess called "Lolita Goddess" due to her stature, who also falls in love with him.
The anime is the first part of a series of projects being planned to commemorate the GA Bunko brand in Japan.
