The Record of a Fallen Vampire Gets Anime Adaptation

The manga The Record of a Fallen Vampire (Vampire Jūjikai), by Kyo Shirodaira and Yuri Kimura, is getting an anime adaptation set to premiere in 2027. The production also revealed the cast, staff, and first promotional video. The adaptation will star Yuma Uchida as Rose Red Strauss, the last king of the Kingdom of the Night and a pure-blooded vampire.

Meanwhile, Aino Shimada will play Bridget Irving Frostheart, a dhampir who has lived for more than a thousand years.

Mankyu directs the series at studios Zero-G and Liber, while also handling the scripts. Jimao is responsible for the character designs, while Evan Call, known for his work on Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End and Violet Evergarden, composes the soundtrack.
The Story of The Record of a Fallen Vampire
The story follows Akabara “Red Rose” Strauss, a vampire king who lost his kingdom and his queen thousands of years ago. After she was sealed away by humans, Strauss sets out to find her while battling the dhampirs pursuing him. Another central element is the Black Swan, an entity that appears in the body of a human girl every 50 years with the power to destroy the vampire king and his queen.
The manga began in Shonen Gangan in December 2003 and ended in 2007 with nine volumes. In addition, a new series in the franchise debuts on October 9, 2026.
