My name is Rafael Alves, known as Shinzo. I created the AnimeNew website in 2009 to offer news about anime, manga, and games directly from Japan.

Today we're going to remember the anime Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas!, a reimagining that no one expected to be so successful. The Lost Canvas anime premiered in Japan  12 years ago . First of all, the work was written and illustrated by Shiori Teshirogi ; in this sense, the manga narrates an alternate version of the Holy War from Next Dimension (a work by Masami Kurumada). Check out the Official Website .

Synopsis:

The series focuses on the former Bronze Knight of Pegasus, Tenma. Tenma is an orphan like Seiya, and has a strong bond with Alone, Hades' host at the time, and with Sasha, the reincarnation of Athena, who lived in the same orphanage as Tenma.

Therefore, Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas was produced by TMS Entertainment (Seirei Gensouki, Magic Kaito) and directed by Osamu Nabeshima .

Check out the trailer:

The manga was approved by Masami Kurumada , who is currently working on Next Dimension. Lost Canvas is a prequel and takes place before the original series. Both manga partly tell the beginning of "Next Dimension," but with differences in some names and character stories.

Remember the opening:

Furthermore, the series did not feature the traditional artwork of the team, something that would only happen later with Omega and Soul of Gold.

Finally, Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas premiered on TV on June 24, 2009, with a total of 26 episodes, divided into two seasons.
