The anime The Salty Koharu Has a Soft Spot for Me ( Shio Taiō no Satō-san ga Ore ni Dake Amai ) has revealed its first promotional trailer, a new visual, and confirmed its premiere for October 2026 on Japanese TV. The adaptation is based on the light novel written by Kazami Sawatari and illustrated by Aitiki , published by Shogakukan 's Gagaga Bunko imprint .

In addition to the video, the production announced a special advance screening on September 20th at the Shinjuku Piccadillyin Japan, with the main voice actors in attendance. The cast includes Hiiro Ishibashi as Sōta Oshio and Miku Itō as Koharu Satō.
Shy romance in the spotlight
The story follows Sōta Oshio, a student who works at a coffee shop. One day, he discovers that Koharu Satō, a colleague known for her cold and distant demeanor, is actually just extremely shy and awkward in social situations. From that encounter, the two gradually begin to grow closer.

This romantic comedy explores the feelings of two young people who have feelings for each other but believe their love is unrequited. The result is a story focused on the challenges of adolescence and the small moments that bring the couple closer.
The team includes well-known names
The film will be directed by Fumihiro Yoshimura at Tezuka Productions studio. Takashi Aoshima will write the scripts , while Daisuke Okushima will design the characters. Shun Narita will compose the soundtrack .
The light novel began publication in 2019 and already has 12 volumes released. Additionally, the manga, illustrated by Kaya Tetsuyama, has been running since 2020.
