the distributor , released a report this past weekend stating that Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie -Rebellion- grossed approximately 1 billion yen (US$10 million) between its premiere on October 27th and November 7th.
According to the distributor, the film sold out very quickly and entered the ranking of million-dollar films that came from an animated TV series, thus competing for positions with K-ON! the movie and also this year's success, anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day .
Madoka Magica The Movie - Rebellion is the third film in the highly anticipated sequel to the TV series "Puella Magi Madoka Magica," where Madoka Kaname, a normal girl who had a happy life, sacrificed herself to save the other magical girls from a cruel fate that awaited them. Unable to let the memories of Madoka die, the magical girl Homura Akemi continues to fight alone in the world Madoka left behind, dreaming of one day finding that nostalgic smile again.
