"Ano Hana" is already a hit wherever it's shown thanks to the TV series. The theatrical release of the film has proven this once again. In about two months of release, the film has already grossed a whopping 1 billion yen, or around 10 million dollars . The film was shown in 64 theaters. Today, so many days later, the film continues to be shown in approximately 70 theaters across Nihon. A regular among the top 10 most-watched films in the country, the film seems to have become a hit since its premiere on August 31st.

Synopsis : The film tells the story from Menma's point of view, with a new epilogue, exclusive to theaters. There is no release date for the film on Blu-ray or DVD , but it is expected to be in 2014.
"Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Boku-tachi wa Mada Shiranai," or "Ano Hana," was an 11-episode series that aired in 2011 and won numerous awards and recognition in Japan, as well as the affection of many fans worldwide. The series was adapted into a manga in Square Jump in 2012, with three volumes in total. The studio A1-Pictures is responsible for the production.
