The acclaimed manga The Vermilion Mask is getting an anime ! The announcement was made during YTV's panel at Anime Expo 2025 , and it's already generating excitement among fans worldwide. After all, the original work, published in Young King OURS , captivated readers with its intense mix of drama, action, and dark fantasy.
The anime production is being handled by 100studio (a WOW Studio label), which has already confirmed some big names on the creative team. Tetsuaki Watanabe , known for Blue Lock , is directing with direct support from the manga's authors, Dr. Poro and Nabana Naba .
What to expect from The Vermilion Mask?
In the story, we follow Peru , a young apprentice craftsman who, while wearing a cursed mask, loses control and ends up killing his master and colleagues. Driven by remorse, he embarks on a journey to destroy all the masks created by his master, facing powerful enemies and unexpected allies.
Furthermore, the plot delves into themes such as guilt, redemption, and the devastating impact of unchecked power. In other words, don't expect a simple story—the anime promises emotional intensity in every episode.
Since the official release date is not yet available, volumes 1 through 4 of the manga are available digitally on Orange. Volume 8 will be released in Japan on July 7, 2025.
