A teaser for The Wind Rises aired. Director Hayao Miyazaki revealed it was the first time he had been moved by one of his films. Studio Ghibli held a press conference to announce the film's completion. The trailer features music by mandolinist Tadashi Aoyama and his son, Ryo Aoyama.

Hayao Miyazaki, who has already won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature, is one of the most famous and respected creators of Japanese animation. His films explore recurring themes such as humanity's relationship with nature and technology, and the difficulty of maintaining a pacifist ethic. The film premieres on July 20th.
