My name is Rafael Alves, known as Shinzo. I created the AnimeNew website in 2009 to offer news about anime, manga, and games directly from Japan.

The production company confirmed that the light novel The World's Strongest Rearguard: Labyrinth Country's Novice Seeker ( Sekai Saikyō no Kōei: Meikyūkoku no Shinjin Tansakusha ) will receive a anime . The official website for the work announced the news, but has not yet revealed details about the studio, cast, or premiere date.

The story follows Arikito , an ordinary worker who, after an accident, is reincarnated in a world called Labyrinth Country . In this new setting, he assumes a mysterious class: "Rearguard ," a support profession capable of attacking, defending, and even healing allies.

Alongside an enigmatic half-human mercenary, his beautiful former boss from the real world, and other partners, Arikito embarks on a journey to climb the ranks of the labyrinth's explorers. His "absolute support" strengthens the group's bonds and paves the way for increasingly dangerous adventures.

Success in light novels and manga

The work was written by Toowa and illustrated by Huuka Kazabana , debuting as a web novel in 2017. A few months later, Kadokawa Books began publishing it as a light novel, which already has eight volumes. In 2018, a manga adaptation drawn by Rikizo was published in ComicWalker , accumulating nine volumes as of February 2025.

Therefore, the arrival of the anime marks a new chapter for the franchise, which has already won over readers and fantasy fans with action and strategy in deadly labyrinths.
