To Be Hero X , one of the most talked-about anime of the moment, has proven that the year still has plenty of new titles for otakus. With an unusual plot and bold animation, it could be one of the best of the season.
In episode 1, the real Nice's suicide raises questions, and the nonchalant reaction of the hero's manager, who immediately considers replacing him, is disturbing, to say the least. During the first episode, especially at the end with Xiao Yueqing's supposed death, the anime seemed to be heading down a dark path, somewhat similar to The Boys, where the heroes are less than admirable.
In episode 2 , released on April 12th, it became clear that Xiao Yueqing, Nice's girlfriend, is not actually dead. Despite this, she is unhappy with her life and no longer wants to be a heroine trapped in a relationship based on public opinion. Determined to follow her own path, she agrees to fake her death and leave the life she knew behind.

The episode's ending surprises with the introduction of yet another villain who, by all accounts, will be a major problem. The character named Enlightenment appeared as a hero ready to expose the romance between Nice and Xiao Yueqing in the first episode.

However, he was humiliated and failed to achieve his goal, which caused the public's trust in him to diminish considerably, affecting his power. Now, consumed by hatred for Nice, the Enlightenment will yield to the power born of public fear, transforming itself into a villain.
To Be Hero X has a surprising plot and animation
If you're looking for an anime that's out of the ordinary, To Be Hero X might surprise you. Right from the start, we're thrown into a narrative that differs from other works, where the powers of heroes and villains are based on the audience's trust or fear.
In other words, we can say that it's a universe where anyone can be a hero, if only they trust them enough. Still, it's a flawed world, where profit trumps life and heroes are nothing more than publicity figures.

Beyond the intriguing plot, the anime delivers bold and engaging animation, with BeDream studio alternating between 2D and 3D styles at specific moments. The fight scenes feature fluidity and dynamism, along with vivid colors and effects that make the moments even more thrilling.
To Be Hero X is still in its early stages, but it has everything it needs to be one of the best anime of the season, especially if it follows a dark narrative with mysteries and twists.
