The announcement took place during the “Dengeki Bunko: Shinshun Chō Kansha Fuyu event at Matsuri Online 2025” . Season 4 of the Anime Spin-Off “ Toaru Kagaku no Railgun “ will have original script for Kazuma Kamachi , art of Motoi Fuyukawa , directed by Tatsuyuki Nagai and animated from JCstaff studio.
Synopsis Toaru Kagaku at Railgun:
In the futuristic academic city, composed of 80% of students, many of whom are espers with unique psychic powers, Mikoto Misaka is an electromaster and the third strongest among only seven espers that received the level 5 classification. The series follows the adventures by Mikoto and his friends - Kuroko Shirai, Kazari Uiharu and Ruiko Saten - exploring events that occur before and during the plot of the certain magical index. Together, they face challenges, mysteries and situations that test not only their powers but also their bonds of friendship.
Therefore, the manga is written by Kazuma Kamachi, released in the April 2007 edition of Dengeki Daioh , from ASCII Media Works. The manga is a spin-off of A certain magical index , also from Kamachi, and takes place before and during the events of the main history. Seven Seas Entertainment began publishing the series in North America in June 2011.
Thus, the first season, produced by the JCStaff , premiered in Japan in October 2009, followed by a (OVA) released in 2010. A second season, entitled Right Scientific Railgun S , aired between April and September 2013.
Finally, a manga spin-off called the Certain Scientific Railgun: Astral Buddy was serialized at the April 2017 to July 2020 Dengeki Ceroin Scientific Railgun T , premiered in January 2020.
