Absolutely fans can now celebrate! This Sunday (16), we had confirmation of the production of the 4th season of the anime Toaru Kagaku no Railgun ( A Certain Scientific Railgun ).

The announcement took place during the “Dengeki Bunko: Shinshun Chō Kansha Fuyu no Matsuri Online 2025” . The 4th season of the spin-off anime “ Toaru Kagaku no Railgun ” will have an original script by Kazuma Kamachi , art by Motoi Fuyukawa , direction by Tatsuyuki Nagai and animation by studio JCSTAFF.
Synopsis Toaru Kagaku no Railgun:
In the futuristic Academy City, where 80% of students are students, many of whom are espers with unique psychic powers, Mikoto Misaka is an Electromaster and the third strongest of only seven espers who have received the Level 5 classification. The series follows the adventures of Mikoto and her friends—Kuroko Shirai, Kazari Uiharu, and Ruiko Saten—exploring events that occur before and during the storyline of A Certain Magical Index. Together, they face challenges, mysteries, and situations that test not only their powers but also their bonds of friendship.
The manga is written by Kazuma Kamachi and launched in the April 2007 issue of ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Daioh A Certain Magical Index and is set before and during the events of the main story. Seven Seas Entertainment began publishing the series in North America in June 2011.
Thus, the first season, produced by the studio J.C.Staff , premiered in Japan in October 2009, followed by an (OVA) released in 2010. A second season, titled A Certain Scientific Railgun S , aired between April and September 2013.
Finally, a spin-off of the manga, called A Certain Scientific Railgun: Astral Buddy , was serialized in Dengeki Daioh from April 2017 to July 2020. Additionally, the third season, A Certain Scientific Railgun T , premiered in January 2020.
