The highly anticipated second season of the Tokyo Ghoul , based on Sui Ishida , is already scheduled to premiere in Japan in January. The information was confirmed on the series' official website, generating anticipation among fans.
Previously, Ishida had indicated on Twitter that an important announcement would be revealed in Young Jump , which publishes the original manga. Therefore, the news of the return didn't surprise anyone, but it excited the otaku community.

The first season premiered on July 3rd at midnight—technically, July 4th—on Tokyo MX, TV Osaka, TV Aichi, TVQ Kyushu , and BS Dlife . Meanwhile, Funimation handled the North American broadcast and also secured the rights for DVD and home video , expanding the show's reach beyond Japan.
