This year's 46th issue of Kodansha 's Weekly Shounen Magazine revealed that Ken Wakui 's Tokyo Revengers manga is heading towards the climax of its final arc with its next chapter, which launches in the magazine's next issue on October 19th.
It is worth noting that the manga entered its final arc in June 2021.
Synopsis
The work tells the story of Takemichi Hanagaki, who, at the age of 26, discovers that he is a time traveler. After discovering the truth behind his ex-girlfriend's death, the boy manages to return to the past in about 12 years, managing to warn the girl about what would happen to her.
Ken Wakui launched the Tokyo Revengers manga in Weekly Shounen Magazine in March 2017. Kodansha published the 29th volume of the manga on August 17th and will publish the 30th volume on November 17th.
The anime adaptation of the manga premiered in April 2021. Crunchyroll streamed the anime when it aired in Japan. The anime's “Seiya Kessen” (“Christmas Showdown”) arc premieres in January.
The manga inspired a live-action film that premiered in July 2021. The film was scheduled to open in Japan in October 2020, but was delayed until 2021 due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As of February 2020, the manga then had over 3 million copies in circulation. As of May 2021, the manga has 17 million copies in circulation. Tokyo Revengers was the third best-selling manga series in the first half of 2021 (the period between November 2020 and May 2021), just behind Kimetsu no Yaiba and Jujutsu Kaisen, with more than 5 million copies sold.
Finally, in 2020, Tokyo Revengers won the 44th annual Kodansha Manga Awards in the “shounen” category.
