The September issue of Comic Birz announced that the manga Tokyo Toybox will be getting a live-action adaptation. The announcement did not reveal the cast or release dates, only stating that new information will be published in the October issue, which will be released on August 30th. The manga was launched in Japan in 2005, with only two volumes, followed by a sequel titled Giga Tokyo Toybox the following year, which recently concluded and totaled ten collected volumes. In Brazil, the first volume was released in 2010.
This is a seinen comedy manga. It tells the story of two protagonists. The first is Taiyo Tenkawa, a 33-year-old game designer who dreams of making the most fun games. He works at a small studio called G3 with his team, after quitting his job at a large company where he created best-selling games. He's a very laid-back guy who always ends up redoing his projects several times because he's never satisfied with the result, always striving for more. The second is Hoshino Tsukuyama, a young director who ends up being transferred to G3 out of envy from her boss. Capable and elegant, she's the typical independent woman of the 21st century.
