Comic Birz magazine announced that the Tokyo Toybox manga will be getting a live-action adaptation. The announcement didn't reveal the cast or release dates; it only stated that new information will be published in the magazine's October issue, which will be released on August 30th. The manga launched in Japan in 2005 with just two issues, gaining a sequel titled Giga Tokyo Toybox the following year, recently completed and totaling ten bound volumes. In Brazil, the title's first volume was released in 2010.
This is a seinen comedy. It tells the story of two protagonists. The first is Taiyo Tenkawa, a 33-year-old game designer who dreams of making the most entertaining games. He works at a small studio called G3 with his team, after having resigned from a large company where he created best-selling games. He's a rather laid-back guy who always ends up redoing his projects several times because he's never satisfied with the result, always striving for more. The second is Hoshino Tsukuyama, a young director who ends up transferring to G3 out of jealousy of her boss. Capable and elegant, she's the quintessential independent woman of the 21st century.
