The September issue of Comic Birz announced that the Tokyo Toybox manga will get live action. The announcement did not reveal the cast or dates, it was only informed that new information will be published in the October edition of the magazine, which will be released on August 30th. The manga was launched in Japan in 2005, with just two editions, gaining a sequel entitled, Giga Tokyo Toybox the following year, recently concluded and totaling ten bound volumes. In Brazil, the title had its first volume released in 2010.
It is a seinen comedy work. It tells the story of two protagonists. The first is called Taiyo Tenkawa, a 33-year-old game designer who dreams of making the most fun games. He works at a small studio called G3 together with his team, after resigning from a large company where he created best-selling games. He is a very relaxed guy who always ends up redoing his projects several times because he is never satisfied with the result, always looking for more. The second is called Hoshino Tsukuyama, a young director who ends up being transferred to G3 out of envy of her boss. Capable and elegant, she is the typical independent woman of the 21st century.
