The new anime adaptation of Naho Tonari no Yokai-san ( The Youkai Next to Me ) has had its first trailer revealed. The information confirms that the series will premiere sometime in 2024.

Animated by Liden Films (Terra Formars, Hanebado!), directed by Aimi Yamauchi (Salaryman's Club), written by Tomoko Konparu (Blue Spring Ride, Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?!) and character designed by Shigemitsu Abe (key animation for Kingdom, Aikatsu!).

Synopsis:
Set in a rural town, the story chronicles the carefree, exciting, and sometimes mysterious lives of youkai, humans, and gods who coexist side by side in this peculiar setting. In the manga's first story, we witness the surprising transformation of Buchio, a 20-year-old cat, into a mythical creature known as a Nekomata. Now, Buchio and his companion Yuri, a fox, embark on a journey to unravel the mystery behind this metamorphosis by enrolling in the "Bakegaku" academy for supernatural creatures. Prepare to be enchanted by this adventure full of surprises!
Finally, Tonari no Yokai-san (The Yōkai Next to Me) started on Twitter in 2018 and ended with its 4th volume on April 7, 2022.
