Toyotarō surprised fans by releasing a new illustration celebrating Dragon Ball Super . The series has been on hiatus since March 2024, following the death of Akira Toriyama . However, promising news may be coming very soon.
After all, as revealed on the Weekly Dragon Ball News , the next issue of V-JUMP , scheduled for release on July 19th, will feature a brand-new poster designed by Toyotaro. In it, we see Goku in Ultra Instinct and Gohan Beast redoing the classic Kamehameha pose from the Cell Saga — a detail that caused quite a stir on social media.
Could Toyotarō's illustration anticipate the series' return?

Although the poster doesn't directly confirm their presence, fans speculate that this visual union between Goku and Gohan could foreshadow the clash against Black Frieza . The V-JUMP edition will also feature another exclusive art by Toyotarō for the Dragon Ball Legends , featuring Goku and Vegeta in their most powerful forms.
Additionally, editor Victory Asada promised to reveal a " certain project " in the same issue of the magazine. While this information remains vague, there's a chance we'll finally know the manga's return date—or perhaps even announce a new project in the Dragon Ball universe.
Finally, if V-JUMP doesn't deliver any major updates, fans can still hold out hope. Toyotarō will be participating in a panel at Japan Expo Paris in early July, which could yield some unexpected surprises.
