Trailer for “Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin” reveals release date

My name is Rafael Alves, known as Shinzo. I created the AnimeNew website in 2009 to offer news about anime, manga, and games directly from Japan.

We announced in March 2024 that the game anime adaptation . Therefore, this Saturday (25), we had the first trailer which reveals the series' premiere date.

However, in the video above, we can hear the opening theme of Ikimonogakari and the ending theme of Little Glee Monster sung by Origami. The anime “Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin” premieres on July 6, 2024.

Synopsis:

In the far east lies the country of Yanato. Since ancient times, it has been believed that this land harbors two worlds: the world above, where the gods live, and the world below, where humans live. Sakuna, a high-ranking and somewhat clumsy goddess, resides in the world of the gods. As the daughter of a god of war and a goddess of the harvest, she leads a lazy and carefree life, squandering the resources accumulated by her parents… But one day, due to an unexpected incident, Sakuna is banished from the city of the gods and sent to the isolated, demon-infested island of Hinoe!

Although in this barren land, where even the next day's food is uncertain, Sakuna must plow the soil, cultivate rice, and confront demons. Together with humans who have become lost in the world of the gods, this group begins to coexist, led by the young goddess of the harvest, where the rice husks dance in the wind!

Finally, the game was developed by Edelweiss and published by Marvelous in November 2020 for Switch, PS4, and PC via Steam. Subsequently, the game Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin was released in Japan on November 12, 2024. Furthermore, it was also distributed in Europe and Australia on November 20 of the same year.
