Recently, at the Tokyo Olympics, we had two tributes to One Piece! That's right, folks, two athletes from different sports and nationalities paid tribute to the most successful work in anime and manga ! Now, without further ado, let's check out what they got up to:
Tribute to One Piece – Luffy
First up, we had Miltos Tedoglou, a Greek long jumper. This Monday, he paid tribute to the future Pirate King Luffy. Upon entering the competition, he simply crouched down and struck the same pose as the protagonist when activating Gear Second!
Besides, it was all worth it in the end, as our beloved Greek athlete secured the gold medal for himself in the tiebreaker! In fact, to everyone's surprise, he managed to jump exactly 8.41 meters. Maybe he really knows how to use Gear Second, right?!
Greek athlete Miltiadis Tentoglou pays tribute to One Piece by imitating Luffy's Gear Second at the Tokyo Olympics:

Tribute to One Piece – Franky
The second tribute came in the shot put event from American Payton Otterdahl. There, he performed the classic SUUUUUUPEEERR Franky pose! Not only did he perfectly mimic the choreography, but he also shouted SUUUUUPEEERR to make things even cooler.
In fact, this performance was also enough to qualify him for the finals, with an incredible 20.90! Maybe he's a cyborg too? Either way, we wish him the best of luck in the finals and hope he wins a medal for his country.
So, folks, will we see more anime tributes at these Olympics? Besides, it would be really cool if a Brazilian did something like that. Anyway, keep following our blog for any updates, and if you have any criticisms or suggestions, leave them in the comments. See you next time!
