Synopsis:
Ushio to Tora is centered on the journeys and confrontations of Ushio Aotsuki, who finds himself constantly pursued and accompanied by a colossal, supernatural and, at times, invisible feline called Tora (Tora = tiger in Japanese). However, Ushio's lineage manages a sanctuary in Japan, where five centuries ago, his samurai ancestor fought against the same creature and imprisoned it against a rock using a cursed spear called the “Spear of Beasts”, which confers power, agility and resistance to the bearer in exchange for their essence. Ushio inadvertently triggered the opening of the cave in which Tora was imprisoned.
Finally, the manga by Kazuhiro Fujita was published in Shogakukan in Weekly Shōnen Sunday between 1990 and 1996. It was also adapted into two OVA series and an anime series adaptation, the latter produced by MAPPA and Studio VOLN, which began to be shown on July 3, 2015 and ended on June 24, 2016.
