Junji Ito 's horror manga should know Uzumaki , one of the author's most renowned stories. However, its anime adaptation has already been postponed for several years in a row without giving a release date. On Saturday (22nd), the anime gained a new animated clip, showing a little of the animation style it may have in the future.

The new clip features the Uzumaki characters in black-and-white animation, similar to the manga style, and the dark theme of their story. Although there is no confirmation for a release date, this clip indicates that the anime has not been forgotten and is still in production.
Since announcing the adaptation in August 2019, many Junji Ito fans have been waiting for Uzumaki's anime. However, hopes for its release have drastically diminished as they postpone the anime all the time. Therefore, at their Anime Expo Production IG executives stated that they are working on the anime until now.
Uzumaki will be adapted into a 4-episode anime and aired on Adult Swin . The Production IG studio is responsible for production. Additionally, Hiroshi Nagahama will be the animation director, Colin Stetson will be the music composer and Uki Satake will be the voice of the protagonist Kirie.
Synopsis:
In the city of Kurozu-chô, Kirie Goshima and her boyfriend, Shuichi Saito, notice that several strange events are happening around them. Because of a mysterious curse, the people of his town have a constant addiction to spiral shapes. All this obsession leads citizens to death, so Kirie and Shuichi try to escape this eternal spiral that traps them.
