Valkyrie Drive -Mermaid-, an action, ecchi, and fantasy anime, has received its first promotional video. The project is by Kenichirō Takaki (Senran Kagura) and Hiraku Kaneko (Maken-Ki!, Manyū Hiken-chō).
The anime's story takes place on five artificial islands. Mamori Tokonome is transferred to one of these islands, where she is attacked and a newly transferred girl named Mirei saves her. But the enemy doesn't stop, and the two are cornered. They had already lost all hope, but then Mirei kisses Mamori, who transforms into a sword. Mirei wields the sword and launches a counterattack against her enemies
The series is directed by Hiraku Kaneko, who works with studio ARMS (Himawari!, Ikki Tousen: Dragon Destiny). It will premiere in Japan in October on AT-X, Tokyo MX, and other channels.
