The 'MAPPA Stage 2023' event, which took place this Sunday (21), revealed a 'final trailer' for the second season of the anime 'Vinland Saga', the work of Makoto Yukimura.

The second season of Vinland Saga premiered on January 9th.

Returning Voice Actors:

  • Yuuto Uemura as Thorfinn
  • Kensho Ono as Canute
  • Akio Ohtsuka as Thorkell
  • Youji Ueda as Leif Ericson

New voice actors announced:

  • Shunsuke Takeuchi as Einar
  • Mayumi Sako as Arnheid
  • Fuminori Komatsu as Snake
  • Yuu Hayashi as Olmar
  • Taiten Kusunoki as Thorgil
  • Hideaki Tezuka as Ketil
  • Mugihito as Sverkel

The team from the first season returns, this time at the MAPPA instead of Wit Studio . Therefore, Shuuhei Yabuta (director of Inuyashiki Last Hero, director of Attack on Titan 3D) is returning to direct the anime. Hiroshi Seko (Banana Fish, Ajin: Demi-Human) is once again supervising and writing the series' scripts, while Takahiko Abiru (2011's Hunter × Hunter animation director) also returns to design the characters. Finally, Yutaka Yamada (Tokyo Ghoul, Donten ni Warau Gaiden: Ketsubetsu, Yamainu no Chikai) is once again composing the music.

The first season of the anime then premiered in July 2019.

Synopsis

In short, the story of Vinland Saga begins 15 years earlier, when the Viking commander Thors decides to desert the battle to live a life of peace in Iceland alongside his wife Helga. Some time later, his son Thorfinn wishes to visit the paradise known as Vinland. When Thors is summoned to yet another battle, the ancient warrior is trapped in a trap to pay for having deserted so many years ago. When the plan is put into action, amid confusion, Thorfinn is taken hostage and his father ends up dead. Thorfinn is forced to join his kidnappers.
