The technical team for the second season of the Vinland Saga revealed two videos for the second cour (one-year quarter) of the adaptation this Friday.

The first video reveals the new opening theme for Survive Said the Prophet, "Paradox." It's worth noting that the band previously performed a theme song for the anime's first season:

The second season of Vinland Saga premiered on January 9th.

The staff from the first season returns, this time at MAPPA instead of Wit Studio . Therefore, Shuuhei Yabuta (director of Inuyashiki Last Hero, director of Attack on Titan 3D) is returning to direct the anime. Hiroshi Seko (Banana Fish, Ajin: Demi-Human) is once again supervising and writing the series' scripts, while Takahiko Abiru (animation director of 2011's Hunter × Hunter) also returns to design the characters. Finally, Yutaka Yamada (Tokyo Ghoul, Donten ni Warau Gaiden: Ketsubetsu, Yamainu no Chikai) is once again composing the music.

Synopsis

In short, the story of Vinland Saga begins 15 years earlier, when Viking commander Thors decides to desert battle to live a peaceful life in Iceland with his wife Helga. Some time later, his son Thorfinn longs to see the paradise known as Vinland. When Thors is summoned to yet another battle, the former warrior is trapped in a trap to pay for his desertion so many years before. When the plan is put into action, amidst the confusion, Thorfinn is taken hostage and his father is killed. Thorfinn is forced to join his captors.

The first season of the anime then premiered in July 2019.

Makoto Yukimura finally launched the series in Kodansha 's Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2005, but the publisher moved the series to Afternoon later that year. Yukimura began drawing the manga's fourth and final arc in November 2019. The manga has over 7 million copies in circulation.
