MiracleBus announced that Kyoto Animation 's Violet Evergarden anime series . This follows several trailers showcasing beautiful animation and being touted as a potential best anime of the year.
Although MiracleBus lists it as a 2017 series, on Kyoto Animation's website we can see that a "preview" will take place on October 21st. Fall anime series usually premiere in early October, and Winter season anime usually premiere the following year. Therefore, if Violet Evergarden is a normal anime series, a preview on October 21st would imply a premiere in 2018.
What can we expect from the Violet Evergarden series?

The direction is handled by Taichi Ishidate, who also directed (Kyoukai no Kanata), while the character design is by Akiko Takase (High Speed! -Free! Starting Days) and the animators are Nami Iwasaki, Fumio Tada, Kohei Okamura, Shinpei Sawa, Nobuaki Maruki, Tatsuya Sato, and Miku Kadowaki.
